Safety, scams and reporting
Practical steps for a safer accommodation search.
EzyFlat is not a guarantee
EzyFlat helps users publish listings, communicate and organise viewings or requests. We do not guarantee any user’s identity, authority, honesty or conduct, or any property’s existence, condition, safety, legality or accuracy. A host declaration is not an independent verification of legal title.
Before paying or signing
- Inspect the property personally or through a trusted representative.
- Verify the host’s identity and authority to offer the accommodation.
- Check the address, condition, room, bills, deposit and availability.
- Use a clear written rental or accommodation agreement and keep a copy.
- Do not pay because someone claims EzyFlat guarantees or insures the transaction.
Possible scam signals
- Pressure to pay immediately or before seeing the property.
- Requests for cryptocurrency, gift cards, unreceipted cash or an untraceable transfer.
- An implausibly low price, inconsistent details or refusal of a viewing/video call.
- Pressure to leave EzyFlat immediately or send passwords, banking information or documents without a clear reason.
- A beneficiary name or bank account that does not match the host without a credible explanation.
How to report
Every listing, every profile in Flatmate Search and every conversation has a “Report” button. Pick the reason, add anything that helps, and the report is stored and reaches our team. The other person is not told who reported them. If you cannot use the button, email contact@ezyflat.com with the subject “Safety Report”.
- Listing: the button sits next to Share, above the photos.
- Profile: from the person’s card in Flatmate Search, or from your conversation with them.
- Message: from the report icon in the conversation header. The report is about the person you are talking to, not one individual message, so say when and what was said.
- Illegal content: identify the exact content, its location and why it is allegedly illegal.
- Copyright or privacy: identify the affected work/data and, where needed, evidence of your connection to it.
For immediate danger, threats or suspected crime, contact the competent authorities first.
What EzyFlat may do
We may request information, preserve relevant evidence, limit visibility, remove content, restrict features, suspend or close an account, and cooperate with competent authorities where lawful and necessary. The response depends on the nature, credibility and urgency of the report.
If we make a decision about you, we tell you why
When we remove one of your listings or suspend your account, we email you what was done, the reasons for it, and how to ask for a review. Every such decision is made by a person who read the content: we use no automated tools.
To ask for a review, reply to that email or write to contact@ezyflat.com with the subject “Appeal”, identifying the decision and why you believe it is wrong. A person will read it and answer you. We do not operate a formal internal complaint-handling system under Article 20 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065; the review is voluntary, and it does not limit your right to go to a court or another competent body.
